Description

The Starfield EDT90 f/6 Triplet APO FPL-53 is a popular 90mm apochromatic refractor—now upgraded for an even better imaging and travel experience. Retaining the performance that made this scope a favorite, the new version adds an improved carry handle and a redesigned soft case, making the Starfield EDT90 f/6 Triplet APO FPL-53 easier to transport, quicker to set up, and more accessory-friendly for modern wide-field astrophotography.

Starfield EDT90 f/6 Triplet APO FPL-53 Key Features

Upgraded Handle for Easy Accessory Mounting

The new handle accepts finder-shoe sized dovetails, letting you mount a guide scope, control unit, or other accessories directly on top of the OTA. This keeps your setup clean and balanced while making the Starfield EDT90 f/6 Triplet APO FPL-53 even more practical for field imaging.

Redesigned Soft Case for Travel and Automation

The updated soft case reduces carry weight and includes cutouts for automatic focusers and accessories, so you can pack up faster without removing key gear. Every Gear series telescope includes a soft case with die-cut foam and an optical test report.

Premium Optics and Imaging-Ready Mechanics

This 90mm triplet uses FPL-53 glass and fully multi-coated optics for sharp stars, strong contrast, and excellent color correction. A 2.5" rack-and-pinion dual-speed focuser supports cameras securely, while the camera angle rotator lets you frame targets easily without introducing flex or shifting focus. A retractable dew shield keeps the system compact.

Lightweight Wide-Field Power

At roughly 9 lb, the Starfield EDT90 f/6 Triplet APO FPL-53 is easy to mount and travel with. With the optional 0.8x adjustable reducer, it delivers a wider field of view for APS-C cameras—often rivaling the framing of larger 100mm-class telescopes. For visual use, it supports magnification up to 300x with no noticeable chromatic aberration.
